Secure Password Generator
Generate cryptographically secure passwords in your browser. Client-side using Web Crypto API. Your passwords stay on your device.
Every password is drawn from your browser's cryptographic random source, never from Math.random. Use at least 16 characters, because length resists cracking far more effectively than symbol complexity.

Passwords are generated locally in your browser using the Web Crypto API. No data is sent to any server.
When to Use This Tool
- 1Create strong passwords for new online accounts
- 2Generate unique passwords when updating existing credentials
- 3Create secure API keys or authentication tokens
- 4Generate random strings for cryptographic purposes
Security Tips
- Use a different password for every account—don't reuse passwords
- Store passwords in a reputable password manager, not in plain text files
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever possible
- Change passwords immediately if you suspect a breach
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the generated passwords secure?
Yes. Generation uses the browser's cryptographically secure random source (Web Crypto getRandomValues), not a predictable algorithm.
Is my password saved or sent anywhere?
No. Passwords are generated in memory and are never stored, transmitted, or logged. Copy them and store them in your own password manager.
What options are available?
You can control length and character classes, or switch to Diceware passphrase mode for word-based passwords.
How is password strength estimated?
Entropy is calculated from the generator settings — length and character pool — and crack time is derived from that entropy at a stated guess rate. The estimate describes the search space of the chosen settings, not the strength of a password typed in from elsewhere.
What is Diceware mode?
Diceware builds a passphrase from randomly chosen words, which is often easier to type and remember than a dense character string. Choose the word count and separator, and the entropy readout updates with each change.
